    Why "Clean Food" Is Important

"Clean Food" is food that is nutritionally-dense and free of insecticides, herbicides, hormones, antibiotics, and additives.

Clean food, whole food, organic, all-natural, non-GMO, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free… these are just a few of the common terms used to describe the types of food we SHOULD be eating; it can get confusing.

Here’s what we’re supposed to eat to support a healthy lifestyle. Lets’ keep it simple; there are basically only two (2) kinds of foods:

    Processed Foods
In general, processed foods are produced using mass manufacturing methods to transform raw ingredients into consumer packaged goods, which have a longer shelf life. Some of the questionable ingredients used include genetically modified source plants (GMO’s), preservatives, hydrogenated oils, fillers, and artificial sweeteners. Consumers can typically prepare these foods quickly… allowing immediate intake. Disappointingly, however, they don’t offer much in nutritional value.

    Whole Foods
These are foods that are either unprocessed and unrefined or processed and refined as little as possible before being consumed. Whole foods typically do not contain added ingredients, such as sugar, salt, or fat. They can be from either animal or plant sources. Moreover, they are full of micro-nutrient vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, phytochemicals, and fiber. Whole food does not necessarily imply organic, or gluten-free. Just because a food is labelled “organic” or “all-natural” does not mean it is a whole food.

Urban Farms Limited is in the business of growing and supplying local fresh, "clean", whole, unadulterated vegetables, fruits, herbs, and fish to savvy consumers and businesses who understand real nutrition… and are willing to pay for exceptional quality.

A New Food Production & Distribution Paradigm

People have begun to understand how far their food currently travels, and that they, as the consumer, have previously had no say in what is grown… or how it is grown.

Urban Farms Limited transforms that former “fixed equation” in food production and distribution. We will reliably deliver locally-grown fresh, "clean" produce and seafood that is closely tied to the ongoing wants, needs and demands of our customers in each different regional market

    Urban Farming

Urban farming or urban agriculture is the practice of cultivating, processing, and distributing food locally in or around a city or heavily populated region. Urban agricultural projects are typically operated in downtown vertical spaces (converted loft-type buildings) or in a more suburban setting with horizontal spaces (converted warehouses or R & D type facilities).

Urban Farms Limited's operations will increase access to locally-grown "clean" food and it will reintroduce the public to the many aspects of food production and choice that we have lost as a culture. The food grown is primarily intended to be directly moved from the grower to the end-user or consumer in some form of ongoing commercial supply transaction.

    The Value Proposition

It is luxury today to be able to buy whole or "clean" food from a fresh farm. The time, the commitment, and delivery are all difficult to manage. There is scarcity of local farmers and the supply chain that does not currently exist at scale. Most hospitality businesses rely on the same suppliers as their competition, so food is similar across all establishments. What if this could change? What if a chef or cook could have access to high-quality "clean" produce and fish any time of year, without concern for weather and the predictably of delivery? Farm location is now irrelevant; now more than ever, we need to deliver a unique experience in quality and taste.

Urban Farms Limited is well-positioned to capitalize on this emerging demand trend for fresh, high-quality, all natural local food production.
